Your Responsibilities When You Cosign for Newport Beach Bail Bonds

January 20, 2016 Comments Off on Your Responsibilities When You Cosign for Newport Beach Bail Bonds posted by: corey

A lot of people aren’t aware that cosigning for bail bonds comes with quite a bit of responsibility. Not only are you guaranteeing to make sure the bondsman’s fee gets paid, you’re also taking full legal responsibility that the defendant will go to court.

If the primary payer on the bail bonds stops making payments, you can expect to start getting collections calls from the Newport Beach bondsman that helped you. Missed payments should be handled as quickly as possible; if they’re not, they’ll ultimately be reported to the credit bureaus.

If the defendant skips town after they’re released because they’re afraid of being prosecuted, this opens up a whole different can of worms. If the bondsman is unable to locate that person in a set period of time, the defendant’s full bail bonds amount will need to be paid to the court as a penalty.

The people who cosigned on the bail bonds will be responsible for covering that fee. If the person in custody is someone you don’t really know, you don’t really trust or if you have concerns they won’t handle their legal obligations, buyer beware. This is not a person you’d want to cosign for.

For more information on how bail bonds work and/or the responsibilities you’ll take on when you agree to be a cosigner, call our office today at 888-bail-bond for a free, no-hassle consultation.

How to choose a Newport Beach bail bonds company

September 21, 2015 Comments Off on How to choose a Newport Beach bail bonds company posted by: corey

The process of hiring a bondsman isn’t as complicated as you’d think.  In this day and age, most people will start their search online.   You’ll want to be sure to look for a few key things.   First, does the company provide 24-hour bail bonds service?   Can they help you on weekends and holidays?   Second, you’ll want to get a sense that the bondsman is an expert in the field of bail bonds in Newport Beach.

Do they seem knowledgeable?  How long has the company been in business?  An experienced jail bonds agent will be much less likely to make mistakes; mistakes can often delay the bail bonds process by several hours.  Lastly, do you get the sense that you can trust the person you’re speaking to?  Do they seem to genuinely care about helping you or does it seem like they’re more interested in getting their hands on your money?

If the person you’re chatting with is giving off a used car salesman vibe, it’s OK to hang up and call someone else.

Online Bail Bonds In Newport Beach

December 15, 2014 Comments Off on Online Bail Bonds In Newport Beach posted by: corey

If someone you care for has been arrested and booked into the Newport Beach Jail it’s natural to want to get them released from custody as fast as possible.

This is where online bail bonds come in.  When you work with our company we’ll start off by asking you some basic questions about both you and the defendant.  We’ll want to know how long you have known each other, what this person is being charged with, how much their bail is and if you are willing to take responsibility that they will go to court when they are supposed to.

From there, we will draw up a custom bail bonds agreement form that can be sent to your computer, smart phone or tablet.  Most of our customers are surprised to learn they can e-sign all of these documents in a matter of minutes.

Once you’ve e-signed the bail bonds contract and email it back to our office, an agent will be dispatched to the jail to post the bond.

Payment Plans For Newport Beach Bail Bonds

October 13, 2014 Comments Off on Payment Plans For Newport Beach Bail Bonds posted by: corey

When someone is arrested, the cost to purchase bail bonds in Newport Beach will depend on their bail amount.  In the state of California the cost is 10 percent.  If bail has been set at $20,000 you can expect to pay $2,000 to hire a bondsman.

Although most clients will pay that fee up front in full using a debit or credit cards, if you can’t pay everything all at once that is OK.

This is where zero percent bail bonds financing comes in.  When you work with our company we’ll ask how much you can afford to put down today and how much you can afford to pay per month.  We’ll also ask you to provide some personal information such as where you live, the type of work you do, if you rent or own your home and the state of your credit.

If you don’t qualify for a payment plan on your own, we may still be able to help if you can provide an additional cosigner.
