Can I Post Bail Bonds for a Defendant Who Lives out of State?

My adult son was arrested on domestic violence charges last night and he’s currently being held at the Newport Beach Jail.  He lives in Arizona and I was wondering if it’s possible to hire a Newport bondsman to help get him out of jail, even though he lives out of state.

The good news is that yes, it is possible to post Newport Beach Jail bail bonds for an out-of-state defendant.  The most important thing you should know is that when you cosign the bail bonds documents, you’re not just agreeing to pay the bondsman’s fee.  You are also taking full legal responsibility that your son will return to California as often as needed to finish his case.  For more information on how Orange County bail bonds work call our office now at 888-224-5266.

Top Two Reasons People Are Arrested In Newport Beach

September 26, 2016 Comments Off on Top Two Reasons People Are Arrested In Newport Beach posted by: Bail Expert

No one likes to think they could find themselves in a position where they’re being handcuffed and placed into the back of a Newport Beach police car.  Below are the top two reasons people need to hire a bondsman after being arrested.

Driving while under the influence.  Recent, increased crack downs on drunk and drugged driving has led to a spike of DUI arrests in California.  Whether someone will need to post DUI bail bonds, however, depends on where they were arrested and whether they were in an accident (or if they have a prior history of DUI arrest.)  Some jails, like the San Diego jails, always require DUI bail bonds.  The Los Angeles jails, Orange County jails and Solano County jails only require them under certain circumstances.

Domestic violence.  If local law enforcement is called out to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance, one of the parties involved in the alleged disturbance nearly always finds themselves in need of a bondsman.  This holds true even if the people involved were just arguing loudly!

If you or someone you know needs help with bail bonds in California, we can help.  Call our office now at 888-224-5266 for a free, no-hassle consultation.

When Would A Newport Jail Inmate Get Released OR?

July 16, 2016 Comments Off on When Would A Newport Jail Inmate Get Released OR? posted by: Bail Expert

Our daughter was arrested by the Newport Beach Police Department for drug possession (she had some marijuana in her car when she was pulled over) and we’re trying to figure out if she’ll be released on her own recognizance.  How can we find out if we’ll need to post bail bonds?

As long as she wasn’t arrested with a significant quantity of marijuana (ie: the police determined the amount was for personal use) she will be released on her own recognizance within 6 to 12 hours of her arrest.  When she arrived at the jail she would have been booked and processed.  They’ll also check her for warrants.  As long as she isn’t wanted for any other crimes, the jailer should start to process her release paperwork.  For more information regarding bail bonds in Newport Beach call us today at 888-224-5266.
